🌱 Propagation Instructions

  1. Sowing Time: For highest viability, seeds should be sown immediately after harvest, avoiding extreme temperatures. However, refrigeration can extend viability to 2+ years if kept at stable temperatures. If stored, seeds should be sown in spring or autumn. (ABCeeds stores these seeds in cold storage, discarding older seeds and replacing them when fresh seeds are harvested.)
  2. Pre-Treatment: Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 12–24 hours before sowing. A mild hydrogen peroxide solution (1% dilution) can help prevent fungal issues (optional, but it may improve germination rates).
  3. Sowing Method: Surface sow seeds onto a well-draining seed-raising mix (peat & perlite 50:50). Lightly press into soil but do not bury.
  4. Temperature & Light: Maintain 18–22°C (65–72°F) in bright, indirect light.
  5. Moisture & Germination: Keep soil moist but not wet. Germination occurs within 2–6 weeks, but some seeds may take longer.
  6. Seedling Care: Once seedlings develop strong roots and leaves, transplant into individual pots with well-draining soil.
