  • Small tree or shrub
  • Low Maintenance, hardy shrub, drought tolerant
  • Tolerates a range of soil conditions as long as well-drained
  • Likes coastal conditions such as salt spray
  • Well-drained, sandy soil
  • Drought resistant, hardy
  • Pest and disease resistant
  • Add native fertiliser in spring 
  • Dense foliage with weeping/arching branches
  • Flowers in Spring and Autumn
  • Masses of soft pink, five-petalled flowers
  • Can be used as a cut flower, screen/hedge plant or feature plant
  • Can be grown in a large pot
  • Prune after flowering has finished
  • Likes full sun
  • Takes 10-30 days to germinate

Seed propagation:

  1. Soak seeds in water for 24-48 hours
  2. Fill a pot with light seed-raising mix, eg ⅔ peat moss, ⅓  perlite
  3. Place seeds on the top
  4. Lightly sprinkle with soil or sand
  5. Keep moist; place a saucer of water underneath the pot and keep topped up 
  6. Place pot in a warm position
