Brachychiton australis (Broad-Leaved Bottle Tree)
Seed Quantity: 12 seeds (adjustable via the dropdown menu).
Description
Brachychiton australis, commonly known as the Broad-Leaved Bottle Tree, is a hardy, drought-tolerant Australian native distinguished by its swollen trunk, which stores water during dry periods. This semi-deciduous tree produces clusters of cream to pinkish-red flowers in spring and summer and is well-suited for ornamental planting, windbreaks, and shade.
Note: Brachychiton australis is sometimes mistaken for Brachychiton populneus (Kurrajong), but they are separate species. While B. populneus has a more slender trunk and smaller leaves, B. australis is characterised by its broader foliage and a more pronounced bottle-shaped trunk.
