    • 60 cm height – 60 cm width
    • Clumping/evergreen perfect for the tropical garden
    • Native to South Africa
    • Indoor – attractive house plant/ cut flowers
    • Attractive long orange petals with blue flower accent
    • Use a free-draining rich soil such as peat and perlite
    • Place in a sunny position, can add composted moist soil
    • Keep the soil moist but not overwatered, especially during summer
    • Fertilise every three months in the growing season
Seed propagation:
  1. Pull off the orange tip (tuff of hairs).
  2. Soak for 48 hours in water.
  3. Fill a small pot with seed-raising mix.
  4. Plant seed just under the soil.
  5. Water in.
  6. Cover with plastic gladwrap or cut a soda bottle in half and use the bottom half as a dome, creating a mini-greenhouse to keep in heat and moisture.
